Project Overview

As part of the Hervey Bay Hospital Expansion, Apollo Property Group completed a major concrete pour forming the structural roof of the new inpatient unit and foundation for the future rooftop helipad. The pour represented a significant construction milestone within the wider Queensland Health infrastructure upgrade, requiring continuous coordination over a single 12 hour operation within an active hospital environment.

We were engaged to capture the scale and progression of the pour through a combination of multi-angle timelapse and video coverage. The final deliverable condensed the complexity and pace of the operation into a short-form visual record, documenting one of the project’s key construction stages for stakeholder communication and project showcase purposes.

Hervey Bay Hospital Expansion – Roof Slab Concrete Pour
60s Showcase Video

Project Approach

Due to the scale and pace of the concrete pour, a traditional fixed timelapse installation was not suitable for capturing the event. Multiple camera systems were positioned across the site to capture key stages of the operation from complementary perspectives while maintaining safe working clearances within an active construction environment.

Camera placement was planned in coordination with site operations to ensure equipment did not interfere with construction activities, plant movement, or safety requirements. Elevated vantage points, including existing site infrastructure, were utilised where appropriate to provide clear visibility of the pour while maintaining secure and compliant equipment positioning.

The resulting capture provided a condensed visual timeline that accurately reflected the scale, coordination, and progression of the milestone pour.
