Project Overview

Bamboo Projects is a Sunshine Coast based registered charity and NDIS provider supporting individuals through community connection, environmental programs, and tailored support services.

The organisation approached Hello Blue Productions to create a video that could succinctly explain what Bamboo Projects does, why it exists and the values driving its work. The film needed to speak equally to people seeking support, community partners, and government or funding stakeholders reviewing grant applications.

The objective was not to produce a highly polished promotional piece, but to capture the organisation authentically reflecting the lived experience of the team and the everyday moments that define how Bamboo Projects operates within the community.

Alongside the main organisational overview video, additional content was developed to allow Bamboo Projects to communicate their story across different platforms and contexts, from presentations and grant submissions through to web and social use.

Bamboo Projects | Organisation Overview

Project Approach

From the outset, authenticity was the central priority of this project. Bamboo Projects’ work is grounded in lived experience and community connection, so the approach focused on observation and conversation rather than scripted messaging.

Filming took place across multiple environments, including time spent on the water and within everyday program activities, allowing participants and staff to engage naturally rather than perform for camera. This helped ensure the final film reflected the organisation as it genuinely operates.

The challenge was balancing emotional honesty with clarity creating a film that communicated Bamboo Projects’ services and impact while remaining grounded and relatable. Interviews were guided to allow participants to speak in their own words with the edit shaped around real moments rather than constructed narratives.

The result is a film that Bamboo Projects can use as an introduction to their organisation  one that explains both what they do and the purpose behind it without overstating or simplifying the work involved.

Alongside the organisational overview, a second brand focused film was developed to allow Bamboo Projects to communicate their story in a more emotive and reflective way. While the overview film provides clarity around services and purpose, the brand film focuses more on the human side of the organisation why the work exists and the experiences that shaped it. Together, the films give Bamboo Projects flexibility to communicate with different audiences while remaining consistent in tone and message.

A companion brand film created to focus on the story behind Bamboo Projects and the experiences that shaped the organisation.

Client Feedback

Nick worked tirelessly to bring our vision to life, taking the time to really understand who we are and what we do. He went above and beyond, working alongside our team and people with disabilities to capture the true essence of our work with care, respect and authenticity.
The finished videos perfectly reflect our values and the impact of our programs. We would happily recommend Nick and the Hello Blue team to anyone, and we’re very much looking forward to working together again in the future.
